This high-water moment we’re having with Bay Area food, in which national critics like Alan Richman have declared that we should be the focus of the country’s food watchers right now, will be recorded in a series of cookbooks slated for 2013. The Times sat down with Manresa’s David Kinch yesterday to discuss the “California lifestyle magic” that will be contained in his upcoming volume, due out from Ten Speed Press — they’re also obsessed with the idea that Kinch makes his own sea salt. Saison’s Joshua Skenes is also working on a book “centered around fire,” and next year will see new books from Dominique Crenn and Traci Des Jardins as well. [NYT, Eater]
