Congratulations are in order for Ms. Lynch: Menton has been named a Grand Chef Relais & Châteaux property, Boston’s first and only. The bookie-turned-superchef joins the ranks of Daniel Boulud, Thomas Keller, and Daniel Humm. Cooler still, she’s the only female Grand Chef in North America. But what does it all mean?
Relais & Châteaux is a collection of 518 uberswank hotels and restaurants around the world: Jean Georges and The French Laundry are examples.
Says Lynch: “When I opened Menton nearly two years ago, my vision for the restaurant was inspired by the meals I had cooked and shared at restaurants around the world over the past twenty years. For our restaurant to be recognized and in such great company is amazing and humbling and I’m thrilled that it has been achieved here, in Fort Point, moments from where I grew up.”
Congratulations, Barbara. Now if only we didn’t have to resort to a life of crime in order to afford a meal there.
