BoHo’s Wesley Pumphrey Now Cooking at Hermosa Beach’s The Rockefeller

Chris Bredesen, owner of Hermosa Beach’s The Rockefeller, sends word that the restaurant, much like Domino’s Pizza, listened to guests who claimed his concept and decor were pretty good, while the food just wasn’t cutting it. The Rockefeller, possibly high on nationalism and showing the same slash-and-burn tendencies that still has fans of forcibly relocated, eighteen-year-old Ragin’ Cajun pissed, claims to have listened to “the people” and booted its chef, David Christopher Damon, whose resume includes jobs at Le Cirque and Restaurant Daniel. So, who’s in the kitchen now, and does it really matter?

Replacing Damon is Wesley Pumphrey, a son of SoCal who has cooked at San Francisco’s La Folie and Monk’s Kettle, and locally at Noe, Craft, The Bazaar, and the second coming of Adolfo Suaya’s BoHo. Pumphrey has introduced a new menu, with dishes like kalbi cheesesteak and a pulled duck sandwich.
