It’s time for the Mission to finally have its own brewpub, complete with beer garden, three-dollar drafts, and capacity for 175, give or take. Southern Pacific Brewing Company (620 Treat Street off 19th) swings open its gates tonight at 7 p.m. sharp, and we’re pretty sure the plaid-shirted and thick-frame-spectacled will be beating a path to Treat Street to check it out — not to mention every hard-core beer geek in town, of which there are a lot.

We showed you the menu from the long-delayed project earlier this week, and now it’s time to see what the place looks like inside. They were still, as of press time, assembling some stuff in the front patio area (which is still free of furniture), and sweeping up and stuff, but you’ll get the idea. It’s a huge warehouse space with lots of light, skylights, indoor trees, and two levels, with the copper beer vats semi-hidden in back.

And as we mentioned earlier, they’ve got five house brews — as well as a selection of other local brews — on tap to start: a pale ale, a California blond ale, a white ale, an IPA, and a porter, all crafted by Andy French of Speakeasy fame. The food menu is by chef Tyler Moorish, most recently of Osteria Coppa in San Mateo. Happy drinking, everyone. It’s going to be a nice night for it.

Southern Pacific Brewing Co. - 620 Treat Street off 19th - Opening at 7 p.m., Friday, January 27. Regular hours starting Monday, January 30, will be Sunday to Wednesday 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., and until 2 a.m. Thursday to Saturday.

So far there’s still no signage out front, but here’s the unassuming entrance off Treat Street.
