Both the Insider and PlanPhilly are reporting on the possibility of two new restaurants opening sometime in the near future at the Navy Yard. But before you get your hopes up about a possible Starr concept that draws inspiration from tales of the Philadelphia Experiment, you should know that the restaurateur is sticking to his “no new Philly projects in 2012” guns and is reportedly not involved. Nonetheless, the nebulous project is just as mysterious. Just exactly who is, remains unknown. What is known is the City Planning Commission approved the subdivision of two new parcels of land, one of which is said to be for the large, two-story brick building at the Yard’s entry, where supposedly a 228-seat (76 of them as part of a an outdoor cafe) restaurant. According to reports, St. James developer P&A; Associates is seeking a restaurant operator for the space. The other parcel in question is space already occupied by Urban Outfitters, which could conceivably house a restaurant, but there are no definitive plans to do so. [PlanPhilly; Insider]
