Midtown Lunch reports that Canary Sandwich Shop, the city’s favorite Westwood lunch stop for Persian lamb brain mahgz sandwiches, has gone the way of the dodo. In it’s place comes New Anatolia Mediterranean Cafe, a Turkish restaurant serving kette pacha, kofte, and a significant selection of spit-roasted shawarma. Zach Brooks says of the new spot, “they don’t skimp on the meat, and the balance of all the flavors is near perfect.” By the time he’s finishing off a brick of baklava, he’s practically forgotten all about Canary.
