The Playlist today picks up a tidbit from a Natalie Portman fan site that uncovered a months-old French interview with novelist and vegan advocate Jonathan Safran Foer, who says the actress “wants to make a very personal documentary” based on his own nonfiction book Eating Animals. “She contacted me, she told me that she loved the book,” says Foer. “I will help her eventually, but it will be her vision.” (We hope she gets at least a few vegan weight lifters in the movie somewhere.)

Somehow we see this ending in another inevitable, rapid-fire screed-quip-screed volley between Foer and antagonist Anthony Bourdain, who most recently took the time out of his surely busy holiday schedule to dump on the film adaptation of the author’s Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. Stay out while you still have the chance, Natalie! It’s not your fight!
