Before opening his anticipated Republique and Factory Baking Company in Downtown, Walter Manzke will first engage in a public knife fight. Well, kind of. The chef will be pitted against the two-headed chef from Sotto on February 20th for the central conflict in Food GPS’ inaugural Lamb Showdown. This six-course feast finds Manzke facing Sotto’s Steve Samson and Zach Pollack, duking it out over four savory courses of U.S. lamb and two desserts using sheep’s milk, with a $500 prize going to the chef who demonstrates the best chops.

But the real beneficiaries of this battle are the guests, who get to enjoy, then vote on, a sizable repast held at Guelaguetza, with three Eagle Rock Brewery beers thrown in for the $75 fee, and fifteen percent of the proceeds going to The Special Olympics. Ewe can now purchase your tickets online, available on a limited basis.

February 20th at Guelaguetza, 3014 W. Olympic Blvd. Koreatown.
