If you want to find yourself quaffing lovely Pinot Noirs, rubbing elbows with the Healdsburg elite (not to mention Guy Fieri!), and noshing on food from some great Bay Area chefs at this year’s Pigs & Pinot weekend, you will need to enter a lottery to do so — at least if you don’t want to have to drive home after the big events. Due to skyrocketing demand over the past few years, the seventh annual pork-and-wine fest hosted by chef Charlie Palmer has once again resorted to a game of chance just give a lucky few the opportunity to pay full price for weekend packages.

The lottery opened today, and goes until next week, January 13, at 11:55 p.m. Enter the lottery here. Individual event tickets will then go on sale January 20.

Pigs & Pinot weekend this year is March 23 to 24, in Healdsburg.

Now, full price for the packages begins at $1,436 for an h2hotel stay, and goes up to $2,799 for Ultimate Packages, which include rooms at the more luxe Hotel Healdsburg. Not cheap! But net proceeds go to benefit Share Our Strength and Here For Them’s “Russ’s Kitchen.”

In addition to Fieri, this year’s featured celeb chefs are Casey Thompson of Top Chef fame (she’s also got a Napa restaurant coming down the pipe), Michael White (New York’s Marea), and our own Michael Mina.
