The other day we gave you a peek of what was in store at newly opened Fairmount destination, La Calaca Feliz. It’s the second effort from Jose Garces alum Tim Spinner and partner Brian Sirhal, the duo behind Ft. Washington’s Cantina Feliz. The 60-seat space (with 12 more at the bar) features a more urban feel than its suburban counterpart. In the kitchen is former Xochitl chef Lucio Palazzo, and working alongside him is Jim Kengot, who served as chef de cuisine at Marcie Turney’s and Valerie Safran’s BYOB Lolita. “We have ourselves a hit squad here,” Spinner told Grub Street. “And not one item on the menu is more than $20.” The menu features a variety of brochetas (skewers), tlayudas (Mexican flatbread pizzas), tacos, enchiladas and more. Keep reading to see the full menus.
