Back in October we mentioned that an outpost of Cherry Hill’s Sammy Chon’s K-Town BBQ was coming this side of the river and setting up shop in Chinatown. And like Baby New Year clutching a “koagie,” Sammy Chon’s soft opened on New Years Day, according to the Insider. Now the Korean barbecue concept will be open for lunch and dinner daily (3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays), serving all manner of Korean goodness from kimchee and bibimbop to Korean fried chicken to bulgogi. And yes, the mythical koagie, too, which is a beef bulgogi, chicken bbq or spicy pork served on a bed of Korean sesame slaw and a seeded roll. What could possibly make this even better news? How about a liquor license? There’s one in the works. [Insider]
