Much like Starbelly chef Adam Timney and many other people in town, Foreign Cinema co-owner Gayle Pirie has a passion for the El Tonayense truck. Her pre-work ritual, some days, is to stop off at Philz Coffee at 24th and Folsom for a cup of Philharmonic, and then to head to El Tonayense (Harrison and 17th) for a plate of “power food”: three pollo asado tacos. “That’s a beautiful little meal for five dollars and twenty-five cents.”
