Are Food Trucks Coming to Brookline?

Finale is gone. Friendly’s has closed. And American Craft is just barely hanging on. But there’s happy news to report in Brookline, too, with word that food trucks might soon appear on the scene.

Tomorrow eve, a food-truck pilot program is slated for discussion at the town selectmen’s meeting. Per the Globe, they’ll debate pressing issues like location, traffic, sanitation, and the effect on neighboring restaurants. Possible locations include several Beacon Street medians and Larz Anderson Park.

If all goes according to delicious plans, permits could be issued as soon as next month, with trucks hitting the streets in April. Oh happy day! Check out the nitty-gritty details right here. If there’s a certain truck you’re dying to see, let us know in the comments.
