Ditmas Park’s Café Madeline Has New Owner, Less Drama

Good luck, guys.
Good luck, guys.

There’s been a little confusion around Café Madeline — the cute little hang that was once vandalized by a pillhead — because it has a new awning and a misleading sign that reads “Ditmas Park Coffee.” But the name will remain the same, and the other changes are just because its original owner, Alexander Hall (who also owns Milk Bar in Prospect Heights and Bluebird Coffee on the Lower East Side), has abandoned ship, leaving the café to someone else. On his decision to scram, a frustrated Hall says that the Ditmas clientele (like the National!) tended to linger for hours, buying one coffee and mooching air-conditioning and Wi-Fi.
