Battery Park City isn't the only real estate re-development project Danny Meyer is getting in on. Word comes today that Meyer's Union Square Events arm has partnered with the supposedly-happening-at-some-point Hudson Yards project for Manhattan's west side. The scope of the development is massive, with residences, office space, a five-star hotel, a giant mall, and even a school planned, and USE is slated to head up the myriad chances to feed people that come along with building basically a whole new neighborhood. Think private dining, new restaurants, catered events (and we'd bet money on a Shake Shack or two) — the possibilities are endless. Meyer is turning into quite the macher, seemingly determined to feed every New Yorker, morning, noon, and night. And with Blue Smoke BPC and North End Grill having opened this week, we can't think of anyone who's having a better 2012. Sounds like somebody had better get started on Setting the Table, the sequel.
