Connie’s Ric Rac, the Rocky Balboa-festooned Italian Market spot that regularly hosts live music, comedy and other performing arts and artists, has some ambitious plans in the works. According to the Passyunk Square Civic Association’s Zoning Committee, Connie’s will unveil plans tonight at a meeting for expanding the venue and adding food service. You may recall that last year Connie’s, which operated as a BYOB for years, obtained a liquor license. Now it’s aiming to expand and become an eat-in and take-out restaurant. At tonight’s zoning meeting, the Connie’s folks are only presenting and explaining their plans and seeking community feedback. The matter will not be voted on. The meeting takes place at South Philadelphia Older Adult Center (SPOAC) on the NW corner of East Passyunk Avenue and Dickinson St. at 7 p.m.
