Farid Zadi’s Cafe Livre et Le Marche is opening a tea and coffee garden at the Venice Blvd. restaurant’s back patio. The patio will make its grand-opening debut on Saturday, January 21st from noon to 6:00 P.M., with a public event celebrating the following Monday’s Lunar New Year kickoff. The tea selection will include tisanes, white teas, steamed and pan-fried green teas, and fermented Chinese Pu-erh teas, with flights available and also available with included taste-tests of Zadi’s new tea-friendly eats.
The new menu includes slow-cooked egg sandwiches, scones, and an even cooler-sounding selection of tea-infused dishes. Those offerings include almond cigars with mint tea syrup, tea-smoked duck rilletes, chai-spiced Marcona almonds, matcha cookies, and tea quail eggs, while tea-infused aguas frescas and Arnold Palmers will soothe the non-traditional who refuse to fly their pinkies at the correct angle. See Zadi’s planned tea-inspired menu, below.
