Bueno Y Sano Will Head East in February

Burrito heaven.
Burrito heaven.

Happy 2012 to us! Bueno Y Sano, the burrito shack beloved by every Western Massachusetts college student who’s ever had a hangover or craved a $5 lunch, plans to open their first Eastern Massachusetts restaurant next month. Right now, Bueno has locations in college-centric Amherst, Northampton, Springfield, and Burlington, VT. The lucky suburban Boston hamlet? Acton! (Which is where this Grub editor grew up, coincidentally, at a time when the only restaurant within a 10-mile radius was called the Olde Oaken Bucket.) Goodbye, Chipotle!

Bueno Y Sano (translation for those of you who didn’t take Spanish in college: good and healthy) announced plans to open at 263 Main Street, just off of Route 2 and about 20 minutes west of Cambridge. There aren’t many college students in Acton, but we do happen to know that the owners live there, so it all makes sense.

Best of all, Bueno has a huge menu—we’re already dreaming of their grilled tomato and garlic burrito. And the East West burrito with plum sauce. And the red curry and chickpea burrito. And … well, check out the Amherst menu here and see for yourself. There’s also a divine salsa bar, complete with the best green salsa we’ve ever tasted ‘round these parts.

In sum: We’re ever so psyched. And you should be, too! 2012 is already shaping up to be a fantastic year. We’ll keep you posted with updates.
