First Look at Blue Smoke BPC, Bringing the ’Cue Way Downtown on Monday
Those fat cats at Goldman had better loosen their belts, because on Monday, Danny Meyer opens the second Manhattan location of barbecue joint Blue Smoke in Battery Park City. Executive chef Kenny Callaghan will offer the same pan-regional barbecue menu as at the 27th Street original (executed here by Chef de Cuisine Jeffrey Held), with the addition of a bar area sporting a new lineup of snacks, like various sausages, pickled shrimp, pork rinds, and more sharable bites. There’s also a 30-strong bourbon selection and a barrel-aged cocktail Manhattan made with the spirit; while suds lovers can quaff house-brewed beer. Blue Smoke Bake Shop, on site, will take care of the pies, cakes, and other desserts. The new one will be dinner only to start, with lunch service to follow soon. Scope out the whole shebang, including some of those bar snacks, in our slideshow.
