A new sushi concept called U-Sushi is coming to Beverly Hills from the owners of San Francisco’s Ozumo (which has a local location at Santa Monica Place), with plans to open sometime in the next few weeks on Beverly Drive, right below Wilshire Boulevard in a space that formerly housed a Jamba Juice and Famous Cupcakes store. Sub-prime sushi seldom survives forever in this part of town, but not everyone has Urasawa pockets. From all appearances, U-Sushi could split the difference as a roll-specialist that allows guests to customize their own by picking from a significant selection of ingredients, to be executed in front of your very eyes by a friendly line cook.
