SnackBox, the third of the four winning Times Square kiosks, opened earlier this week. Unlike the earlier arrivals (Salume and Nuchas empanadas), owner Johnathan Morr (BondST, Republic) is offering a veritable smorgasBox of NYC foods. Think Doughnut Plant doughnuts, pretzels from Sigmund Pretzelshop, bagels from Vic's Bagel Bar, Sarabeth's muffins, and gelato from Il Laboratorio among the options. Meanwhile, in other Times Square–area news, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has temporarily expanded beyond its tourist-clogged digs to the Upper West Side. Today for the rest of the month, a pop-up shop at 2169 Broadway will sell Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf single-serve home brewers, plus mugs and other accessories. For weary UWS shoppers, there are drink samples and seating as well.
