Sorry, Italian-American activists, the Poulakakos Group — which owns Harry’s Steak, Financier Patisserie, Ulysses, the Growler, and the forthcoming Dead Rabbit — is moving forward with its various restaurants at Pier A. We spoke with partner Danny McDonald, who gave us the update on the team’s plans.

Per McDonald, the aforementioned oyster bar will be located at the end of the pier, with indoor and outdoor dining. The rest of the ground floor will be taken up by a beer garden. Upstairs, a restaurant serving “a tribute to local fish and local produce” will occupy the second floor, “not unlike the Harry’s menu, but with a bit more focus on seafood,” McDonald says, while the third floor will be dedicated to events.

“It’s just a beautiful old building with these great old rooms,” says McDonald of the 30,000-square-foot Victorian pier. “There’s not a bad seat in the house because of the views.” As noted, this is just one of several financial district projects the Poulakakos Group has in the works. McDonald explains, “It’s not really heavily serviced for what’s down there. A lot of people have moved into the neighborhood and of course there’s a Wall Street Crowd.” Expect a 2013 opening for these places.
