No. 7 Sub to Open in Greenpoint; All-You-Can-Drink Brunch at the Cardinal

East Village: We got word that the Cardinal has boozy Southern brunch on the weekend. This can only mean lots of dry-aged strip steak and eggs to be downed with $5 all-you-can-drink mimosas ‘til 4. Just think of the trouble you could get into. [Grub Street]
Flatiron: For those of you spending exorbitant amounts of time and energy on locating the rarest of the elusive white truffle, fret no more. This Sunday, Eataly is throwing a party for the truffle D’Alba, featuring it on each of its restaurant’s menus and selling it by the ounce. Start saving up now. [Grub Street]
Greenpoint: No. 7 Sub will bring its Ace Hotel hipness to hip Greenpoint sometime next month. The sandwich shop will reportedly expand to include a “very big kitchen” on Manhattan Avenue; also exciting: seating. [Diner’s Journal/NYT]

Midtown East: It’s Yuletide in Sweden, a.k.a. Santa Lucia Day, so Aquavit is having a proper Nordic feast in celebration of the holiday. The restaurant usually offers a special Christmas plate during lunchtime — this year until New Year’s Eve — but tonight only, it’s being served for dinner in the form of a $35 three-course meal. Complimentary dishes include lussekatt (S-shaped saffron and raisin buns) and papparkakor (thin ginger snaps). [Grub Street]
