Kauffman Calls Jang Soo BBQ ‘Bland,’ ‘Normal’

Surprise! Jonathan Kauffman has reviewed another restaurant, Jang Soo BBQ, that no one has ever heard of. Kauffman calls the food at the Korean joint in the Outer Richmond “bland” and “pretty but prim.” Although the kitchen “hasn’t yet found the flourish,” Kauffman notes that there are a few items where “style and substance merged.” Overall, he prefers the barbecued dishes to the other stuff on the menu. Oh, and be warned: if you do make the trek out there to have the “normal San Francisco-quality level” food, be prepared to pay big bucks. Jang Soo is not cheap, the “prices rival Aziza’s down the street.”
