Kauffman Calls Burger Urge’s Burger Filling, But Not Worth a Special Trip

Stop it.
Stop it.

In a blog-length review today, SF Weekly’s Jonathan Kauffman gives us an early, professional opinion on Burger Urge (1599 Haight Street at Clayton), the new burger spot that opened a couple weeks back with that unfortunate tagline. He calls the burger “standard-issue” and overcooked (he’d asked for medium), and the fries he says are “skinny and underdone.” Furthermore, it’s “not a destination, that’s for sure, but that makes the restaurant perfectly pitched for this stretch of Haight Street … Burger Urge’s comfortably cluttered interior and kind-bud specialties like the Elvis burger are exactly what the market wants.” [SFoodie]
