D.J. Jonathan Toubin, a.k.a. ‘the New York Night Train,’ Injured in PDX Crash

Come on out and dance tonight.

Come on out and dance tonight.

The Portland Oregonian has the sad news that one of Grub's favorite D.J.'s, Jonathan "the New York Night Train" Toubin, was injured in a freak accident in Portland, Oregon, yesterday morning. While Toubin slept in a ground-floor room at the trendy Jupiter Hotel, a taxi (whose driver evidently suffered a diabetic episode) crashed through the wall and landed on him. Toubin was semi-conscious and could speak and move his hands slightly when paramedics carried him away from the scene. Both Home Sweet Home — where Toubin had been slated to spin his signature blend of old-school soul and R&B tonight — and his other regular NYC venue, Motor City, are holding benefits this evening. Here's wishing Toubin a speedy, full recovery. [OregonLive via Sounds of the City/VV]
