Charles Barkley Joins Weight Watchers’ ‘Lose Like a Man’ Campaign

Before and after.
Before and after.

Weight Watchers is scoring all the heavy-hitters this week: Just one day after justifiably portly ‘n pregnant Jessica Simpson signed a $3 million deal with the company, former basketball star Charles Barkley has been named the face (and body) of their “Lose Like a Man” ad campaign. (Seriously.)

Before and after.

“I felt bloated and big,” the former athlete discloses. Thankfully, WW proved a life-changing experience: “I thought vegetables were all nasty! Weight Watchers has me eating cauliflower, Brussels sprouts and asparagus, and I really, really like it,” he told People magazine. “My body is starting to look like a person again!”

Hopefully Simpson will shed more excess baggage than Barkley: He’s apparently lost just 27 pounds on the program, which doesn’t sound like much for a guy who tipped the scales at 350 and measures six-foot-six. But every little bit counts before the NBA season starts back up and Chuck gets in front of the camera again, later this month.
