Thanks to reader donations following Grub's Thanksgiving-time post, Holy Apostles' soup kitchen in Chelsea — which had its budget slashed by more than 50 percent this year — raised over $500. So says Yvonne Cassidy, a social media officer, who told us there will be a special Christmas turkey meal served tomorrow in the Episcopal church's nave from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The soup kitchen, the largest in New York City, will also be open on Friday, before closing for the weekend. Check out its new Facebook page, and continue to support Holy Apostles with your donations here. Joy to the world, etc.
