On January 13th, Culver City’s Royal/T will welcome Bizarre Foodsmain dude, Andrew Zimmern, into the cafe to cook a pop-up dinner of his own design called “California Dreaming.” The idea is that Zimmern won’t go too nutso on the bat butts and lemming pancreas this go-around, but create an accessible menu riffing on California cuisine, with the addition of a few exotics like uni, veal and lamb tongue, and venison with goat chuchules. Strangely for Zimmern, the $150 price is a little more shocking than the ingredients at the five-course fete, but a part will go to L.A. Regional Food Bank. Reservations go live next Monday on EventBrite. See the menu below.
