Yuubi Japanese Coming to the Richmond; San Mateo Is Now the Nexus of Ramen; and More

Inner Richmond: A new Japanese restaurant called Yuubi is on its way into the vacated former King Sing Chinese space at 501 Balboa Street. [Grub Street]
Mission: It looks like the aforementioned openings of Tacolicious (741 Valencia) and Mosto, early next week, might be delayed by a PG&E; issue. Stay tuned. [Grub Street]
And the next-door sandwich shop, bakery, and larder at Bar Tartine looks like it won’t be opening before January now, due to a few construction delays and the impending holiday season ramp-up for Tartine. [Grub Street, Earlier]
Jackson Square: Quince and Cotogna have a new pastry chef, Devin McDavid, formerly of Per Se, French Laundry, and Soho House. [Grub Street]
Embarcadero/Telegraph Hill: Piperade (1015 Battery at Green) is expanding into the next-door space with a private dining room, and possibly a lounge. [Scoop]

San Mateo: Ramen Parlor (901 South B Street) is now the third in an empire of niche-ramen shops from owner Kazunori Kobayashi, who also owns Ramen Dojo and Santa Ramen in San Mateo. The new place, which Kauffman reviews today, features “seafood-style modern ramen [that] follows the latest trend in Japan, [with] more complex broths.” [SFoodie]
