There are plenty of ways to describe Red Rooster chef/style icon/man about town Marcus Samuelsson: "talented," "altruistic," "media-savvy," "Swedish." But is he inspiring? Followers of his Twitter feed might think so, since the chef has the habit of throwing in inspirational quotations (sometimes attributed, sometimes not) among the links and recipe tips. We've collected the best of the month so you can see what we mean, but keep in mind that there are still almost two weeks left in November, so Samuelsson has plenty of time to top himself. After all, as writer Leo Rosten once put it, "Happiness comes only when we push our brains and hearts to the farthest reaches of which we are capable."

November 1: "Imagination is more important than knowledge."

November 3: "It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness."

November 5: "A good breakfast will make you a dating champion." (To be fair, this tweet was actually a link to a story on Food Republic, not a traditional quotation. But it's just damn good advice.)

November 10: "It's a funny thing about life.. if you refuse to accept anything but the best, you very often get it."

November 10: "Quote of the day: 'I love what I do. I'm happy at what I do. It's escapism.' via Michael Jackson"

November 14: "Everyone tries to define this thing called Character. It’s not hard. Character is doing what’s right when nobody’s looking."

November 15: "When a person is down in the world, an ounce of help is better than a pound of preaching."

November 15: "Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much. -Oscar Wilde"

November 15: "Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear. -Ambrose Redmoon"

November 16: "I’d rather live with a good question than a bad answer."

November 16: "Don’t ever wrestle with a pig. You’ll both get dirty, but the pig will enjoy it. -Cale Yarborough"

November 17: "Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later. -Og Mandino"

November 18: "Everything comes to us that belongs to us if we create the capacity to receive it. -Rabindranath Tagore"
