The New Korean Karaoke Hang on St. Marks Is Official

This summer we heard that the old U2 Karaoke bar (which was cited by undercover NYPD police for selling beers to minors and others without a license earlier this year) had a new owner and would be transformed into a multilevel Korean restaurant with the works. Grub Street has confirmed that Christine Choi, who also owns Nemo NYC and Karaoke Boho, has acquired the space and been approved by Community Board 3’s SLA committee for a wine and beer license. The venue remains unnamed, but she says “sing-alongs” and Korean food will be on each floor. Fortunately or unfortunately, a very popular new neighbor, NY Tofu House, is already drawing in the Korean-food-loving crowd by the droves.
