Since hop-heads get all the bittersweet love around here, it’s refreshing to see Downtown’s Public 612 will hold a winter workshop called "The Darker Side of Beer and Dessert." On December 5th, Stone Brewing Co.’s Norm Stackhouse III (no, not the first or second) will lead guests through an exploration of swarthy suds and sweets, part of the restaurant’s monthly Beer 101 class. The tasting is priced at $25 per person, with reservations required at 213-623-1172.
