It’s easier to find a McNugget than a library.
A picture says a thousand calories. The scary McDonalds map is making the rounds again with Grist showing Stephen von Worley’s piece that illustrates how far one could actually get from “our world of generic convenience.” (Remember this?) The map is color-coded by distance to the nearest McDonald’s and, in the end, we see that it’s simply in your face, America. The only U.S. area without Big Macs in the air? The desert near the Nevada-Oregon border, where you can, happily, be 110 miles away from a Happy Meal. [Grist]
