The insanely in-demand L.A. County Master Food Preserver program is holding a fund-raiser at Homegirl Cafe on December 4th to share some of its skills with a group of 50 attendees, inspiring them to make edible presents for the weeks ahead. Called “Gifts for the Holidays,” this three-hour event includes five demos, with samples and recipes to take home, all for a $45 entry fee. The program, spurred by Hollywood Farmers Kitchen chef Ernest Miller, will see its second class graduate next week, a group of eighteen that found originally found 118 applicants vying for a spot. Reservations for the 50 spaces are now available online.[UCCE]
