Nothing dumb about this.
Dumbo folk are still freaking out over the part-time Wild Rise, but in a few days, they’ll have Punto Bianco (“white spot” in Italian) to munch on, too. On the corner of John and Jay Streets, a sign has gone up saying the restaurant will serve paninis, salads, and other light fare, plus will have an espresso bar. So even though Hillside (a.k.a. new Vinegar Hill House café) is having permit issues, and Brad McDonald’s new joint looks a lifetime away, those shuffling under the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges will not starve after all.
