Former Daniel pastry chef Dominique Ansel's eponymous bakery opened yesterday on Spring Street with a menu of savory breakfast and lunch items, and a wide selection of sweet treats. Check out our slideshow to see photos of the chef's signature macarons, his butternut-squash soup with cinnamon marshmallows, and Dominique's kouign amann (a sort of caramelized croissant). A rep tells us the bakery had totally sold out by 3 p.m yesterday, so if the roast pork club in our slideshow is part of your lunch plans, better hightail it over.
