Burritos

Is Boloco Wrapping Up Its Tufts Location?

So yesterday we told you that Boloco was handing out free burritos for people who came in to try the new kiosks at their Tufts location. Now BRT has it, via Facebook, that the Medford spot hopes to stay open through the end of the year, and maybe longer, depending how much business the place does. However, they’re considering closing due to the green line construction delay. Kind of strange that a burrito place, right next door to Tufts University, on a stretch of road without many dining options, is having trouble holding its own. Who needs the T!?

Why don’t the denizens of Davis Square love Boloco? They closed their other Davis-area location in 2008; meanwhile, Anna’s Taqueria and Chipotle have continued to thrive in the ‘hood (and yet another Mexican restaurant, the Painted Burro, is slated to open in the old Gargoyles space shortly).

For what it’s worth, we think Boloco is pretty good. And, after all, neither Anna’s nor Chipotle offer Thai burritos.
