First Look at Basik, Bringing Cocktails and Sandwiches to Williamsburg Later
The name of this Williamsburg “public house” is pronounced like basic, since the owners (who have Gallery Bar and the Breslin on their résumés) have emphasized simplicity in their menus and decor. The 40-seat space features industrial-chic design in the form of steel-and-glass windows up front and a nineteenth-century butcher-block bar salvaged from an abandoned packing plant; out back is a 30-seat outdoor garden for warm months. Food-wise, you’ll find a snacky lineup of small bites (deviled duck egg, salami sticks), and a selection of sandwiches and small plates. To drink, there’s a brief cocktail list and a choice of craft beers. See menus below and scope the space in our slideshow.
