Phillydotfood, Philly.com’s clearing house for all food related content from the Inquirer and Daily News just tweeted some good news: American Sardine Bar, the long awaited bar and restaurant in Point Breeze from South Philadelphia Tap Room’s John Longacre, will finally make its debut on Wednesday, the eve of Thanksgiving. Almost as quickly as this news broke, Grub received a text from Lee, the mysterious figure behind the long-in-the-works cocktail bar Hop Sing Laundromat, saying that his opening is not far behind. “Our opening is dependent American Sardine Bar,” he told us, joking that since that was the order the two businesses fell in, in our Fall Restaurant Preview. “I was waiting for their opening, so we could do ours.” Is he being truthful, or just pulling our leg? Honestly, were not sure. As always we’ll keep you posted. [Phillydotfood/Twitter]
