It’s about time! The Wahlberg siblings’ Wahlburgers opens today in Hingham, just south of Boston. In addition to burgers, you’ll find hot dogs, fries, and frappes (that means milkshake in Bostonian). Last night, there was a swanky opening soiree with Marky Mark himself in attendance!
And he didn’t just show up. He also declared the burgers to be so good that he ate four in one day. This isn’t just a celebrity vanity project, though. Chef Paul Wahlberg also runs the very popular Italian-Mediterranean Alma Nove in Hingham. He’s also keeping things real by using only government cheese on his burgers. That unusual choice is a homage to the brothers’ blue-collar roots: According to brother Donnie, it’s the cheese that the family “grew up with.”
