This morning, Jeremiah’s Vanishing New York reported that 30-year Little Italy veteran Rocky’s Italian Restaurant had not succeeded in renegotiating its lease, which went to the owner of Balaboosta. Now Eater has it that Einat Admony won’t expand Balaboosta into the space, but rather she’ll install a location of her falafel shop, Taïm. Admony was defensive when Eater got her on the phone, insisting that she hadn’t been the one to push out Rocky’s: “If we were greedy we would have expanded Taïm to a chain and cashed out years ago.” Regardless, things are looking good for Little Italy lunchers.
