Today’s MenuPages newsletter jumped the gun a little with news that Fathom Seafood House was closed. That’s not completely true. The Fishtown bar and restaurant that Fish and Little Fish chef-owner Mike Stollenwerk opened earlier this year on East Girard Ave. near Shackamaxon has been on the market for several weeks. Stollenwerk also recently divested himself of Little Fish to focus his attention on his flagship Fish, which will relocate in coming months. A rep for Stollenwerk told Grub Street that Fathom’s sale was finalized earlier this week. The new owner is Rob Holloway, a stakeholder in Fathom from the beginning and its chef de cuisine. Going forward the bar will no longer go by its name, and since the transaction was completed the awnings bearing Fathom’s logos have been removed. Grub was unable to get a hold of Holloway for what his plans will be with the restaurant. But, as always, we’ll keep you posted.
