Starbucks’ Juicy Plans for Further Domination


Grub Street has said repeatedly that the juice-bar business seems to be the only profitable industry these days, and it seems Starbucks has been listening. According to “Page Six,” ‘Bucks CEO Howard Shulz has been courting local NYC juice experts, skulking around Juice Press, and finally going so far as to hire a manager from Liquiteria, whom he flew out to Seattle last week to train employees. The plan is to make coffee shops half-coffee/half-juice spots, and if his track record is any indication, you better fill up on independently made overpriced juices while you can. [Page Six/NYP]
