Oh, dear. The mothership in New York laments via Eater that IHOP will move into Manhattan’s formerly disco-licious Limelight Marketplace, which is also home to Todd English’s CrossBar. Maybe he can drown his sorrows in pancake syrup if his new cookbook doesn’t fly off the shelves.

But, in happy hometown news, Island Creek gets a shout-out from Sam Sifton in his final New York Times review. In his four-star assessment of Per Se, Sifton swoons over the restaurant’s signature starter, Oysters and Pearls, which employ “small, marble-shaped, from Duxbury, south of Boston, fantastic” Island Creek oysters. Don’t get any ideas, IHOP.
