Cupcake purveyors Robicelli’s haven’t had a brick-and-mortar shop in several years, to the chagrin of their feverish fans, who are forced to chance it at the coffee shops around town that stock the treats. Well, no more: Allison Robicelli writes to tell us that the new Sons of Essex on the LES “has our ENTIRE LINE. They’re essentially the Manhattan outpost of our store” (the night spot has a bakery in front). Robicelli also reports that she and her husband have branched from cupcakes to whoopie pies and brownies, which are “selling out faster than we can make them” and for that reason, are only available for now at Sons of Essex. So maybe whoopie pies are the new cupcake?
