Michelin Stars Revealed: EMP and Brooklyn Fare Soar Into the Three-Spot

A nod to new hideaways and other pleasant surprises.
A nod to new hideaways and other pleasant surprises.

Okay, chefs, you can breathe now. It’s here: The Michelin New York 2012 dining guide — exciting, not earth-shattering. The hard copies will be released tomorrow, but the good stuff is out now. Like, Eleven Madison Park, which sailed from one star to three. And Cesar Ramirez’s Brooklyn Fare, which is now rocking out even harder, going from two stars last year to three (playing with the big boys: Daniel, Le Bernardin, Masa, Per Se, and Jean Georges). A few restaurants will not be popping the bubbly ce soir, like Picholine, which lost a star. Oddly enough, a place called Heartbreak (which Grub thought was only purposeful for East Village bathroom breaks) got a sparkling star. More Michelin surprise crushes include: Tamarind Tribeca, Danji, and Rosanjin.
