This will surely come as welcoming news for weekend warriors and anyone who just can’t wait another second for the Chip Roman-backed and Jason Cichonski-helmed Ela to make its debut. Mica, the Chestnut Hill restaurant the two chefs opened last February, is now doing Sunday brunch. Using local and sustainable eggs, meat and produce the Mica crew will turn out their own take on classic brunch dishes. Highlights form the menu include Brioche French toast with caramelized apples and applewood smoked bacon; buttermilk pancakes with pumpkin butter and Chantilly cream; steak and eggs with beef short rib, white grits and fried egg; house-smoked salmon with potato pancake, fried egg and sour cream; and wild mushroom ravioli with shitakes and chives. And for liquid nourishment, there’s sangria, bloody marys, fresh-squeezed mimosas and a variety of fresh juices.
