Michael Mina
As we mentioned a few weeks back, there’s a big celebratory dinner Sunday night to fête Michael Mina to mark 20 years since he started at Aqua, in 1991. Appropriately enough, the dinner will be held in the space that once housed Aqua, which is now Mina’s own eponymous restaurant, and today the Scoop shares a bunch of gushy quotes from Mina about all the now famous chefs who worked under him over the years, including Traci Des Jardins (“I remember loving to watch her taste food.”), Ron Siegel (“I remember saying to George [Morrone], that hands down, this guy has the best hands in this kitchen.”), and Melissa Perello ("Melissa’s tough.
