The Germans are still invading and the brat beat on, as The Standard in Downtown outs itself as the latest venue to go jumping on the Deutschland volksbandwagon, with the introduction of its own rooftop biergarten. 105 communal seats are scattered on the hotel’s sky-high grassy knoll with a eight-dollar ticket** for choices like two sausages, a giant pretzel, two salads, and one keg-tapped beer, glass of wine, or German soda.

So, if anyone still Hun-gers for currywurst and weisswurst without a kuche on their block, you can read all about chef Kurt Guntenbrunner’s wieners and unfiltered wheat beer in The L.A. Times. ** This post has been updated to reflect that eight dollars buys you one of thse options, not all of them, as originally stated.
